Whole-home air sanitization

UV & PHI whole-home air sanitization

In-duct UV-C lights and PHI purifiers that target mold, bacteria, viruses and odors inside your HVAC system and throughout your living space.

Quick answer

Whole-home air sanitizers mount inside your ductwork. UV-C lights (Elite-UV $895, APCO-X $1,095) clean the air and coil surfaces at the unit. PHI systems (REME HALO $1,295, HALO-LED $1,695) also send low levels of airborne hydrogen peroxide and ions into your rooms. The ActivePure Air Scrubber ($1,495) treats both air and surfaces. All prices include installation.

How REME HALO works

Inspired by how sunlight cleans outdoor air

Outdoors, sunlight helps break down microorganisms two ways: UV light, and small amounts of hydrogen peroxide that form naturally in the air. RGF designed REME HALO to recreate that indoors.

Inside your ductwork, UV-C light hits an advanced catalyst and produces low concentrations of airborne hydrogen peroxide along with bipolar ions. Your HVAC system carries them into every conditioned room, where RGF states they reduce allergens, viruses, bacteria, mold spores and odors.

Why this matters in a closed home

Your air conditioner recirculates the same air over and over. The EPA notes indoor levels of some pollutants can be 2 to 5 times higher than outdoors, and most people spend about 90% of their time inside. Many germs and spores are too small for standard filters to catch.

  • Odors: reduces pet and musty smells
  • Germs: helps reduce airborne bacteria and viruses
  • Homes: works with any ducted system
  • Businesses: offices, schools, clinics, gyms and restaurants

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between UV lights and REME HALO?

A UV light like Elite-UV or APCO-X treats surfaces and air right at the lamp, which keeps your coil clean and knocks down mold and odors inside the system. REME HALO and HALO-LED add a catalyst that releases low levels of airborne hydrogen peroxide and ions, which travel through the ducts into your rooms.

Do these systems produce ozone?

HALO-LED and APCO-X are verified zero ozone to the UL 2998 standard, and HALO-LED is CARB certified. The ActivePure Air Scrubber uses ozone-free germicidal UV. If ozone is a concern for your household, we’ll steer you to a UL 2998 verified unit.

How often does the lamp or cell need replacing?

It depends on the unit. APCO-X uses a 3-year lamp with a change indicator. REME HALO and HALO-LED have a countdown day timer, and the HALO-LED cell lasts about 2.5 times longer than the REME HALO cell. We can handle replacements on a service schedule.

Can UV be added to a ductless mini-split?

Yes. The Switch Mini UV LED strip is made for ceiling-cassette mini-splits. Call us for pricing.
