Professional remediation
Air duct mold remediation
Mold in your ductwork gets blown into every room. We contain it, remove it, treat it and fix the moisture problem that caused it.
Quick answer
Air duct mold remediation removes mold from inside ductwork and HVAC components using containment, HEPA vacuum extraction, EPA-registered antimicrobial treatment and moisture correction. NADCA-standard duct cleaning is required first. Breathe Clean Services prices remediation by in-home estimate. Occupants and pets stay out for 2 hours after treatment.
When to call a professional
Why duct mold is a job for pros
- Duct cleaning comes first: NADCA-standard cleaning is required before remediation
- Hidden growth: DIY cleaning only reaches the vents, not the ductwork behind them
- Spore spread: running the HVAC with untreated mold pushes spores into every room
- Porous materials: moldy insulated or fiberglass-lined ducts must be replaced

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I clean mold out of my ducts myself?
Not effectively. DIY cleaning only reaches the vent covers. Mold deeper in the ductwork can’t be reached without professional equipment, and running the system with untreated mold spreads spores into every room.
Do moldy ducts need to be replaced?
Hard metal ducts can usually be cleaned and treated. Insulated or fiberglass-lined ducts that have grown mold can’t be adequately cleaned and must be replaced.
How long do we need to stay out of the house?
Occupants and pets should stay out of the home for 2 hours after the antimicrobial treatment.
How much does duct mold remediation cost?
Every job is different, so we price it after an in-home estimate. NADCA-standard duct cleaning is required before remediation.
